Fulcrum DOC — Frequently Asked Questions
Is there anything to install?
No. There is nothing to install or set up on any of your computers.
Do I have to sign a 12-month contract?
No. In fact, there is no contract to sign at all. How long you use the service is up to you. One month, ten years, or anywhere in between.
Are these notifications only for offenses in North Carolina?
Yes. There is no truly national database for criminal offenses. Each state has it's own unique method for tracking this data.
Isn't this over the top? We already do traditional background checks and it has worked fine for us so far.
Ask yourself this question - Does my community (media, customers, supervisory agencies) expect my organization to know when an employee or volunteer is charged with a serious offense? In recent years, the answer has become "Yes, they expect you to know." This is especially true in education, finance, health care, and government. Many organizations simply do not realize that this type of service is available to help them meet these evolving expectations.
If an offense is committed, how long before I find out about it?
Fulcrum DOC will send you an email the same night we receive the data from the NC Administrative Office of the Courts. Sometimes this data is delayed a few days before it reaches AOC in the first place. These delays are often due to administrative backlogs in the county where the offense occurred.
How does pricing work?
We anticipate that you will find this service to be very affordable, especially relative to the rest of the background check industry. You only pay for one month at a time. Pricing is done on a per-employee (or per-volunteer) basis. The more people you need to monitor, the lower your per-head cost will be. We will quickly put together a price quote tailored for your organization - simply let us know the number of people you anticipate adding to this screening service.
